PhotoMigrations Image Posting Guidelines

These guidelines are in place to benefit the community as a whole as well as the individual members. By following the guidelines below you will allow all the opportunity to view others images, have time to critique and see your photos at their best. If you have any questions feel free to contact one of the staff.

• Images should be sent in JPG format
• Your images should be no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side.
• Images should be 150 KB or less
• Only one image per post
• Please limit your image posting to one image per forum per 24 hour period

Enjoy yourself, pass the site URL on to others, and as always share you knowledge concerning nature and photography.

How to Post an Image

There are two ways to post an image to the forum. Our members have the option of hosting their images on a site of their choice or on the PhotoMigrations server. Below are the directions for each method. We do recommend that images be less than 150kb and 800 pixels on the longest side.

Hosting an Image from an Outside Site

Go to the Image Critique Forum and click on New Topic. The next window will allow you to add your name and password. In the message box use the BBCode as shown below. To add an image within your message, just encase the URL of the graphic image as shown in the following example (BBCode is in red).

In the example above, the BBCode automatically makes the graphic visible in your message. Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the [img] code.

PhotoMigrations Image Hosting Service

• Select Image Hosting from the upper right hand corner (it is directly under "edit your preferences").
• Select the jpg image (150 kb max) from your hard drive by using the "Browse" button.
• Click "Submit".
• The next window you see with have the URL from the PhotoMigrations site where the image is stored. Highlight, Right Click, Copy.
• Go to the proper forum and click "New Topic". Paste the URL from the previous page into the message where you would like the image to appear.
