Bill Horn's Seminar a Popular Attraction at IPHF Event! |
The 8th Annual Photo Seminar and Camera Show attracted a large crowd of photography enthusiasts to Oklahoma City's International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum in February. Attendees enjoyed a camera show that offered new and second hand photo equipment and several nature photography seminars that included underwater and macro-botanical photography. That evening, an opening night reception was held for two new exhibits that included "Tribute to Kodak:125 Years", an exposition of Kodak cameras, equipment and memorabilia from the IPHF's extensive collection, and the Images from the Sea exhibit of underwater photography by Kimberly and Karl Dietz. But out of all these events, Bill Horn's seminar on "Bird Photography in the Digital Age" was considered by many as the high point of this exciting day. Bill's Canon camera mounted on a tripod with a 600 mm lens and displayed at the auditorium's entrance before the show wowed the crowd, many of whom had never before had a close-up look at a lens that size. During his seminar, Bill's Power Point presentation of beautiful avian images elicited a nearly continuous stream of "Oohs" and "Ahhs" from the audience. Equipment, lighting and shooting techniques were all covered, as well as how to carry a camera and tripod through the woods without scaring away the birds. Following his presentation, the audience was inspired to ask Bill a variety of questions about how they too could photograph birds. The IPHF is grateful to Bill Horn for his time and energy which he donated to produce and present his wonderful seminar. It is only through the generosity of people like Bill that an important institution like the IPHF can exist. Exciting changes are being planned for the IPHF, and I urge photographers around the world to contribute to this worthy cause simply by joining. To discover why becoming an IPHF member will benefit you and countless other photographers, please go to International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum. |
