| Featuring Rick Sammon |
This month's featured Pro is the star of two photo series on the Do It Yourself (DIY) cable/satellite network: Photography Workshop and Digital Photography Workshop. He has also appeared on every major morning show across the country. You have most likely seen Rick in one of the 10 episodes he has hosted on the Canon "Photo Safari," which was originally on ESPN but now on the Outdoor Life Network. Show locations include Galapagos, Belize, Botswana and Thailand. On these programs, Rick teaches television and movie stars how to take better pictures. His students have included: Maria Conchita Alonzo, Dana Delany, John O'Hurely (Seinfeld's J. Peterman) and most recently Kelly Packard of TV's "Believe it or not." Rick is the author of 22 books - his latest: Rick Sammon's Complete Guide to Digital Photography. His latest major effort is photographing live butterflies for a book: Flying Flowers - the secret lives of butterflies and moths. Click Here to view a list of Rick's books. All of Rick's writings make him the most frequently published photographer/writer in the world. Rick also teaches photo workshops. He teaches for some of the most prestigious photo workshops in the country: Maine Photographic Workshop and Palm Beach Photo Workshop. He also teaches 35mm and digital photography workshops for Popular Photography and Imaging magazine. Rick's workshops (more than 20 in the past 5 years) have taken him to China, Costa Rica and throughout the United States. A member of the Explorers Club, Rick has documented cultures in Brazil, Nepal, India, Cuba, Thailand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Costa Rica.
